Much human suffering is caused by infections. Despite the outstanding successes in control afforded by improved sanitation, immunization, and antimicrobial therapy, infectious diseases continue to be an increasing problem. This class will discuss the emerging infections, infection control issues, dealing with sepsis and what?s new in antimicrobial therapy.
