Meeting and Event Planning

15-credit Technical Certificate

Many companies and professional organizations hold meetings and special events for their clients, customers and members, and it takes detail and organization to create a successful, memorable experience. Event planners handle all aspects of coordinating conventions, meetings, parties and other special events from securing the location, finding a speaker, maintaining the guest list, and working with caterers and other hospitality professionals. Endorsed by the Wisconsin Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, this short-term certificate covers topics including incentive and special events management, risk management, legal issues, registration, housing, transportation and event coordination.

This certificate complements many degree and diploma programs within WCTC’s School of Business.

Credit Transfer Opportunities

WCTC has agreements with local high schools and various four-year colleges and universities that enable students to transition more seamlessly from high school to WCTC to four-year colleges. Transcripted credit agreements provide high school students the opportunity to take WCTC courses at their high schools. Agreements with four-year colleges enable WCTC graduates in selected programs to transfer credits, often at junior-level standing. Agreements currently in place for this program are listed below.

There are no credit transfer agreements for this program at this time. For more information, contact your academic advisor.

UW-System Credit Transfer
