First Responders
Designed for police, fire, emergency medical and emergency government personnel that have general aviation airports in or near their community. Participants will become familiar with the world of general aviation, the who, what and why followed by knowledge essential to respond effectively and safely to a general aviation incident.
General Aviation security training has become a priority for local and state enforcement and emergency response teams. Learn how to safely operate on airport facilities and confidently respond to airport incidents. Become familiar with:
- The potential for criminal use of general aviation aircraft and facilities
- General aviation airport design and activities
- Types and uses of general aviation aircraft
- Pilot licensing and licenses
- Basic proactive measures (watch program, communications etc.)
- Local and state laws that govern first responders intervention authority for aviation based incidents
- Safe operation on an airport
- Common electrical and engine controls
- Live airport visits or virtual tours for e-learners
